Pre-Incident Preparation
The Tehama County Evacuation Guidelines have been created with the assistance of the California Office of Emergency Services (OES)
  • Clearance Around Structures
    Have adequate clearance around structures of all flammable material. Minimum of 30 feet, (includes wood piles). Greater distances may be required based on the slope.
     
  • Clear Roof and Gutters
    Clear all leaves from gutters and roof. Trim back overhanging branches at least 10 feet from chimney.

  • Nonflammable Roofing
    Replace roofing and siding with nonflammable or fire resistive materials.

  • Remove Flammable Vegetation
    Reduce or remove flammable vegetation, including landscape plants, and replace with less flammable plants.

  • Greenbelt
    Maintain greenbelt modification around developed areas.

  • Animal Transport Planning
    Have means of transporting livestock or pets readily available.

  • Collect Valuables
    Collect valuables, medications and other personal items in one place and be ready to evacuate if necessary.

  • Provide Information to Property Owners Association (POA) list of emergency special needs (blind, deaf, dependent on life threatening medications, insulin, oxygen, bedbound, wheelchair bound, mentally or physically challenged) for assistance during an evacuation.
