Brian Smalley's
Work, Fortitude and Dedication to Duty
Will Never Be Forgotten by the Citizens of Tehama County


It is with the deepest of sorrow that we announce the death of Red Bluff Fire Engineer Brian Smalley. Brian passed on Tuesday, May 20th, at his home in Red Bluff. He leaves behind his wife, Lisa, and three daughters: Sarah, Emily and Samantha.

A Memorial Service for Brian Smalley has been scheduled for Monday, May 26th (Memorial Day) at 1 PM at the Red Bluff Community Center (1500 South Jackson Street).

Everyone is invited. We are requesting Class A or Class B uniforms for all attending uniformed personnel.

Brian served the Red Bluff Fire Department for nearly 17 years and was an instrumental member of our department. His energy and enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew him. His commitment to our community and to public safety was second to none. He was a tremendous firefighter and a loyal friend to all. We mourn with the family over the loss of Brian.

Brian Smalley was an Engineer for the City of Red Bluff Fire Department and a member of the Shasta Cascade Hazardous Materials Response Team (SCHMRT). As such he has dedicated his life to providing his technical services to our community and region as a First Responder.

Brian Smalley took the dream of a MCI mobile unit from the Tehama County Mass Casualty Incident Interagency Disaster Committee and dedicated himself to make it a reality.

His contributions of time and talents also assisted multiple other agencies, counties and regions as the MCI trailer has been copied throughout the state of California. Because of Brian Tehama County and Region III is a safer place to reside. Brian's hard work, fortitude and dedication to duty will never be forgotten.
